Incumbent serves as a practitioner within the clinic, working within a panel of patients primarily managed by another provider in the provider's absence, managing same day access patient needs and walk-in needs manages comprehensive primary care services for a panel of patients in a Primary Care setting at a VA Community Clinic. Incumbent develops care plans, and collaborates with Physicians and Sub-Specialties throughout Lebanon VA Medical Center's spectrum of services; assisting all sub-specialties for delivery of care to patient. Incumbent establishes and maintains relationships within the medical center and other specialties that result in improved patient care. Incumbent accepts substantial and continuing responsibility and accountability for planning, coordinating and controlling a complex integrated health care practice.
Work Schedule:Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 PM (28 Hours Per Week), unless otherwise approved by supervisor Financial Discloser Report:Not required
Physical Requirements: Moderate lifting, 15-44 lbs; light lifting, under 15 lbs; moderate carrying, 15-44 lbs; reaching above shoulders; use of fingers; both hands required; walking 6-8 hours; standing 6-8 hours; both legs required; ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously; near vision correctable at 13" to 16" to Jaeger 1 to 4; far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and 20/40 in the other; both eyes required; depth perception; ability to distinguish basic colors; hearing (aid permitted) min 15/20 one ear and mental and emotional stability required.

Basic Requirements: * U.S. citizenship. Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. * Education. Graduate of a PA training program, or of a surgical assistant program which is accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or one of its predecessor organizations AND a bachelor's degree from an accredited PA training program or in another health sciences related field from an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. * PAs on VA rolls prior to the implementation date of this standard (i.e. September 5, 2014) who do not meet the minimum academic level of a Bachelor's degree are exempted from this requirement. * Certification. Current and continuous certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required for employment in VHA. PAs on VA rolls prior to March 12, 1993 who are not NCCPA certified remain exempt from the NCCPA certification requirement. However, a PA who subsequently became or becomes certified is no longer exempt and must maintain certification as a condition of employment. * English Language Proficiency. PAs appointed to direct patient-care positions must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d).
Preferred Experience: Clinical experience in primary care.
