*A day in the life… *

This position is responsible for hiring & developing top talent, leading IT operations, and providing production support for all hardware, software and material handling systems utilized within the facility. The Manager also supports preventative maintenance programs, troubleshooting, and/or ensuring the repair of all hardware, software and material handling systems within the facility. As well as leading or participating in initiatives to support Building Operations, Supply Chain and/or Corporate IT. Responsibilities include:

  • Support, develop, and delegate to a team of IT professionals to ensure department, facility, supply chain & corporate objectives are met.

  • Provide strategic thinking and long term planning to forecast and provide for team and/or facility needs that may be a 1yr in the future.

  • Provide results driven problem resolution and follow-up to users of PC, Mini and Mainframe equipment including network-connected devices/applications.

  • Ability to respond directly or through assigned person at all hours for 24/7 building support.

  • Effectively Communicate in a user friendly terminology that ensures others’ understanding of hardware / software issues, new initiatives and process changes.

  • Ensure the facility is up to date on all hardware / software releases and is in line with IT Operations and Corporate IT standards.

  • When needed, provide Data Led solutions for operational workarounds of facility or IT Operations processes.

  • Manage the purchase and contract of I.T. Operations supported equipment and software as well as recommending local facility and corporate IT equipment.

*Equipment and Systems Supported: *

  • Installing and Maintaining Data Systems: Micro PC’s and Network Equipment; Creating and Refreshing Systems Disks; UPS; Software Upgrades; Cabling (Data and Voice)

  • Installing and Maintaining Phone system - Maintain, Troubleshoot & assist in installation: Avaya Mulitvantage v1.3 digital switch; both digital and analog phones; Portable phone system.

  • Repair, Maintain and Install Label and Ticket Printers: Printronix T8000; Monarch Printer & Cutter/Stacker; Kyocera 4200dn / 9530dn; Zebra QLN420, ZT410; and all future models

  • RF System - Repair, Maintain and Install: Scanners; Repeaters; Base Units; Access points; RF Backbone

  • Unit sorters - Maintain, Troubleshoot & assist in installation: PLC Cabinets; SCP’s; Induction stations; Application server; RF server; RF Device; WSS (RTI’s sortation software); future applications.

  • Database Management - Create, Maintain, Convert and Update: Access Databases

  • Telephones - Install, Repair, and Maintain: Install Desk and Portable phones; Send Desk and Portable phones in for repair; Maintain Service Agreements; Maintain Switch and Audix (Automated Attendant)

  • Symbol Scanners and Batteries - Purchase, and Maintain: Purchase Trakkers, Scanners, Batteries and parts; Send Trakkers and Scanners in for repair; Maintain and adhere to Service Contract

  • Network Profiles – Maintain: Setup new profiles; Update existing profiles; Setup Exchange and Share Drive Access

  • Internet and Intranet Access- Maintain (All): Setup and Maintain Internet and Intranet Access. · Manuals - Create and Maintain (All): Create and Maintain System Training Manual and troubleshooting guide; Create and Maintain Disaster Recovery Manual.

You own this if you have…

  • College degree in business, information technology/systems, computer science or equivalent, desired.

  • Excellent communication skills (i.e. verbal, written, group presentation).

  • Proven leadership and mentoring skills.

  • Systems (i.e., WMS, Microsoft Office Applications, Productivity Measurement System).

  • Broad IT experience, from PC’s, printers, servers, network infrastructure and wireless network.
